German car maker Audi released interim financial statements in 2012, including detailed information about the acquisition Ducati on July also was announced.
Initially, the financial statements of the acquisition cost of the Audi Ducati is 1.120 billion dollars but the final purchase price agreed between two parties which is 980 million. What is interesting in that, on paper, after merger and acquisition deal, Ducati is a subsidiary of Lamborghini because Lamborghini is the company that paid for the deal. But Audi control Lamborghini that means they aslo control Ducati .
Maybe this is the Italian supercar company's strategy, by incorporating Ducati and Lamborghini that can use advantage of the engine manufacturing technology available, to be able to produce cars with better emission standards, avoid fines by the terms of strict and stringent emission standards for engines of Europe.
