The Vezel has the qualities of an SUV, elegance of a coupe and functionality of an MPV says Honda
The bustling Honda enclosure at the Tokyo Motor Show saw a very interesting production model called the Vezel. The Vezel is a mix of an SUV, MPV and Coupe blended into a neat package. The car goes on sale in Japan on December 20, 2013. The compact crossover shares its platform with the all-new Jazz and the soon to be unveiled sixth generation Honda City. The Vezel’s front end is high set giving it a SUV-like stance while the neatly sloping roof gives the impressions of a coupe.
The Vezel gets a 1.5-litre petrol direct injection engine and also a hybrid with a i-DCD (Intelligent Dual Clutch Drive which is Honda speak for Dual Clutch Transmissions) transmission. The Japanese car market is dominated by petrol powered cars with a large acceptance for torque convertors. Dual Clutch Transmissions though are making their way in with models like the new Fit Hybrid (Jazz to Indians). The new Fit/Jazz hybrid is the most fuel efficient car in Japan right now returning 36.4km to a litre.
