Endeavour facelift launch in 2-3 months; Next-generation Everest Concept displayed at Bangkok should make it to India next year
The Ford Endeavour has proved to be quite a dud in the Indian market. The SUV is outdated, based on a pick-up truck chassis and isn’t as comfortable as the other SUVs in this class. And it shows at the sales charts with just five Endeavours selling in February and two in January according to SIAM figures. We spoke to Ford and the company states that these are wholesale figures of the 2013 model. Once these 2013 models are sold, in the next 2-3 months, the 2014 Endeavour which receives a minor update will go on sale adds Ford India. The Everest will only come sometime in 2015.
The 2014 Endeavour gets a revised front end that includes a flatter bonnet, smaller upper grille with horizontal chrome slats, a hexagonal lower grille that’s part of the front bumper and new fog lamp housings. This update will be the final one on the current generation car.
Ford has taken the wraps off its next generation Figo with a hot new sub-4 meter concept
Ford India has unveiled a new compact sedan concept called the Figo Concept. The Figo Concept which will take on the likes of the Honda Amaze and soon to be launched Hyundai Grand i10 sedan will make production this year. The Figo Concept which will measure under 4-metres will come with options of two engines - one petrol and one diesel.
If you want the best diesel compact SUV on offer in India, which one would you go for? The choices aren't many but the fight for the crown is close, so we break it down for you in this comparison test
In one corner, you’ve got Ford’s EcoSport TDCi, that’s taken the Indian car market by storm and ruffled a few feathers across segments, be it hatchbacks, sedans or MPVs. In the other is the Terrano dCi 110 PS. The Nissan is everything what the Duster is but does it wearing a dapper outfit. Now you have a dilemma, the city-cool EcoSport or the urban yet rugged Terrano.
While the EcoSport diesel has 91 PS on tap, the Terrano has 110 PS so does that give the Terrano it’s edge? It does, yet loses it as quickly since it is about Rs 3 lakh costlier than the EcoSport. There’s more though to these two cars than just power and price, and before I start sounding like a politician, let me start by telling you why these cars are catching the fancy of every Indian car buyer around the Rs 10-12 lakh mark.
Ford Trademarks the Model E name, suggests direction for future model range
According to the United States Patent and Trademark Offices, Ford has filed for trademark rights to use the ‘Model E’ moniker. The trademark has been filed under the Automobile Section of Goods and Service and has been numbered 86133442.
Although it is highly unlikely that Ford will replace all its name back to the way they used to name their cars in the first quarter of the 20th century, the Model E name plate clearly shows some sort of electric car connection. Ford has so far used the Model A, AC, B, C, C Ten, F, K, N, R, S, T and Y monikers but has never used the Model E nameplate before.
DC Design has just revealed their take on the hugely popular Ford EcoSport. The customisation house has modified the exteriors and interiors of the compact crossover thoroughly.
The front sees the headlights pushed below into the bumper, while the original headlight cut-out features LED daytime running lights and turn signals. The front bumper is completely new, and features a huge (maybe unnecessary?) air intake.
Inside, the 5-seater EcoSport can now accommodate only four, in a 2+2 layout. The seats, door trims and dashboard panels are finished in a beige color, and the front passenger seat can also be folded flat to create a leg rest for the rear passenger.

While Gran Turismo 6 players were treated to a free download of the all-new BMW M4, which they could lightly tune (for now) to over 500 hp and then try to hit all the apexes with, those who play Need for Speed: Rivals got a different sports car surprise, in the form of the all-new Ford Mustang GT that became available in the game.
However, the people who calibrated its handling and performance seem to have overcooked it a bit… Even if it has over 420 hp from its revised V8 engine, it could never realistically hold and reach 200 mph (320 km/h), yet it does so in the game, and if you use the nitrous, it will nudge 220 mph (352 km/h) with no other mods applied.

We bring you the latest news on all the Supercars and Sportscars coming to India in 2014
There are cars that take you from point A to B and then there are cars that make you leave point A with no destination in mind. These are cars that beg to be driven and they reward the driver with an unparallel experience with their looks, sheer power, pinpoint perfect handling or an intoxicating combination of all the above in what is usually a drop dead gorgeous body. These cars are not practical, they aren’t fuel efficient and are usually more expensive than one can imagine. That said, they are usually the object of desire for everyone who comes in close proximity to one often inspiring the same amounts of lust a beautiful woman would. These then, are the sportscars and supercars that brighten up the automotive world with their loud exhausts, low slung stances and beautiful forms. If you are one of those lucky few who has the moolah for one, we take you through 10 cars for 2014 that are certainly worth your while.
The all-new 2015 Ford Mustang is not retro in its styling in any way, but it is influenced by its predecessors, and particularly the original model before it started gaining weight (from the 1964 to 1968).
It’s a much more svelte looking design job than that of the outgoing fifth-gen Mustang, leaning more towards sports than pure muscle car, though, I think it’s always been kind-of in the middle of those two criteria.
The previous car ended up being not bad at all to look at after a couple of facelifts, particularly in the light green hue it’s been shown in more recently, but it seems brutal, whereas the new car is more pointy-looking and dynamic, if you will.
Thus, we decided that this is as good an occasion as any to place the three models side by side, and see just how they compare visually.
The new 2015 model has been reengineered from the ground up, and while it has the same wheelbase as the outgoing car, it seems differently proportioned, with a changed stance.
Looking to buy a Sedan in 2014? Read our detailed report on all the new Sedans expected to come to India in 2014 before you make a decision
The quintessential status symbol for any Indian family, the sedan is an integral part of the Indian automotive scene. In a country where manufacturers strive long and hard to adhere to strange government norms like the Sub-4 meter rule, the sedan is one of the most important cars in any manufacturer’s arsenal. Although 2013 was a relatively quiet year for sedans in general, 2014 seems to be a blockbuster year with over 20 new cars and variants slated to roll into the hustle and bustle of the Indian automotive sector. From cars at the lower end of the spectrum, like Hyundai’s new sub-4 meter sedan to the uber luxurious Mercedes-Benz S Class, there is something for everyone.
It's just past 1:00am, and we all know what that means; Ford has pushed the start button on the reveal-process of the new 2015 Mustang after introducing the car to some 2,500 guests in six cities across four continents tonight – and all for good reason as it will be the first model in the car's 50 year old history to be officially offered for sale globally.
So, after a marathon of posts dedicated to the Mustang, what else have we to show you now? Well, we've gathered over 60 photos, including the first of the Convertible and some we took from the official configurator that just went live (play with it here), as well as four promo videos.
Performance and fuel economy are generally believed to be mutually exclusive, especially when it comes to SUVs. BMW’s X5 Mserves up 555 horsepower, but at the cost of 17 mpg fuel economy. Jeep’s Grand Cherokee SRT8 packs 470 horsepower, but returns just 18 mpg. The Range Rover Sport HSE? It gives you 375 hp, but returns the same 18 mpg.
